Do I need to take the SERU / topographical test?
All TfL PHV drivers must pass the SERU assessment.
All new applicants must pass the SERU and Topographical assessments first before their license can be granted.
How can I book my SERU / topographical tests?
Drivers and applicants can now book their tests online via the new TfL PHV Driver Portal. Our tutorial video shows you how to book your tests.
How many attempts are you allowed for TfL Assessments?
You will be given two attempts to pass both the SERU and Topographical tests. If you fail one assessment but pass another, you will only need to retake the one you failed. Some students may be given an extra attempt based on their specific results.
What is the pass mark for SERU / topographical tests?
To pass each of the tests, students are required to achieve a minimum of 60% marks.
Can I reschedule / cancel my test booking?
If you want to cancel or reschedule your assessment date, or you would like to contact with Tfl email them to TPHDriverassessments@tfl.gov.uk or you can call them on 0343 222 4444.
How difficult are the SERU / topographical tests?
According to TfL’s most recent report, the pass rate for their tests is around 50%. Most students who sit the tests without practicing fail on their first attempt.
What is the best way to pass?
The best way to pass the SERU / topographical assessments is to study an online course with up to date practice questions. Depending on your skill level, we recommend studying 1-2 weeks for Topographical and 1-2 weeks for the SERU.
